Arts & Culture
Enjoy the many creative experiences of Watrous and Manitou Beach. With year round services and specific events there are always artistic opportunities available to you. Community organizations and individual entrepreneurs alike invite you to experience the arts!

Watrous & Area Arts Council (WAAC)

WAAC coordinated activities include the performing arts, showcasing a concert series with performers from Stars for Saskatchewan concert series. WAAC has sponsored an annual dinner theatre for a number of years, partnering with the Saltwater Players to stage performances from a wide range of genres. This production is supported by makeup artists, seamstresses and a set construction crew, drawn from community members.

Gallery on 3rd

Located at 102-3rd Avenue East, Watrous, the Gallery on 3rd has featured exhibits by local artists, artists from the surrounding area, the province and international artists as well as exhibits from Arts on the Move, provided by the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils (OSAC). The Gallery on 3rd is operated by volunteers through the Watrous & Area Arts Council. For current exhibits and hours, check online at Gallery on 3rd.

Studio Trail

Spirit of Manitou Studio Trail Saturday, July 8 10am-7pm and Sunday, July 9 Noon-6pm, 2017 is the 10th annual Spirit of Manitou Artist Studio Trail. Follow the map and road signs for a self-guided tour to artists and artisans in their unique studios, featuring artists and artisans from Manitou, Meacham, Watrous & surrounding areas. Visitors travel to studios in and around the area to view and purchase Saskatchewan created artwork. Textiles, paintings, sculptures, pottery and concrete statues are just samples of what can be discovered. Current brochure with map is available at www.spiritofmanitou.ca. Come join the spirit! Watrous Library

WAAC also sponsors exhibits from local artists at the Watrous Library. These exhibits can be seen during Library hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:00 am to 8:00 pm and Wednesdays and Saturdays, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
